He went to the Methodist Pre-school, Sand Creek Elementary, Jennings County Middle and Jennings County High School. Chase was a 2015 graduate. He enjoyed the outdoors, animals of all kinds, and video gaming with friends. He played basketball, ran cross country, and loved to wrestle. He enjoyed the drama and arts. He loved to tell people about Jesus and was a faithful follower of the Lord. Chase was diagnosed in April, 2010 with Stage 4 neuroblastoma at Riley Hospital. Chase underwent several surgeries, chemotherapy treatments, and radiation treatments in Indianapolis, Bloomington, and Cincinnati. The chemotherapies and radiation treatments would shrink the cancer but could never quite get it under control. Chase continued chemotherapy treatment while in school and at home for the 4 years after his stem cell transplant. After many different treatments the cancer advanced to a point where it was affecting his walking and was inoperable on his brain. August 18, 2015 with his mother and father at his side Chase went to Heaven. Chase was a fighter. Throughout treatments and sickness he worked hard to accomplish personal goals. He missed a year and a half of school but made it up over summers because he was determined to graduate when he was supposed to. Chase attended nursing school one year in Versailles with the thought of becoming a pediatric cancer nurse. Cancer on occasion would try to slow Chase down but he would never let it get the best of him. Enrolled in Physical Education his senior year he went from hardly being able to walk to running a mile in 12 minutes. He showed no matter what life throws at you if you set your mind to it you can do it. Chase never complained. Chase always had a smile on his face. Always.. Chase was a firm believer that God was in control. He was baptized just a few months prior to his diagnosis. He always said during his journey that "God had this." He was never afraid to show his love of the Lord. In April, 2014 Chase had his IMAGINE concert at a local church for people to share in their love of the Lord and bring others to know the joy he felt. Chase would carry a picture of Jesus on his laptop case to school every day just waiting for someone to ask him about it. Chase also spoke at his home church for homecoming 2014. Chase was the guest speaker at our local Relay for Life in 2014, telling others of his journey. Chase inspired so many people. People we would have no idea he touched in his life. Chase would always explain oh what a wonderful world we live in. He would stand in the rain just because he could. Chase loved playing video games with his friends, his brother Skylar, and cousin Isaac. He also loved the outdoors and animals of all kinds. He would go fishing and every fish he caught had to get a kiss before it went back in the water. He had a special place for penguins. He just loved them. We were fortunate enough to be able to take him so he could pet a real live penguin in Cincinnati. He had a love for dogs and cats as well. His goal after high school was to take pets to local hospitals so patients could enjoy their love with him. He bought a Siberian Husky just for this shortly before his passing. In the last few days of his life he wanted nothing more than to be home with his family. He always wanted to share his story with others to encourage them and to let them know he was fine. His favorite bible verse was Exodus 14:14, The Lord will fight for you; You only need to be still. He would ask us all the time "are we being still and letting God take care of things?" Chase knew he was going to Heaven and what a great place it was going to be.
