Scholarship Information

College is a substantial financial investment; however, we believe no one should be denied an education due to cost. Begin seeking financial aid and scholarships early.

Spring Scholarship Opportunities

Scholarships Available March–May

  • THRIVE is a scholarship and program for incoming, first-year, independent students. By that, we mean students who have had experiences with foster care, housing insecurity, homelessness, emancipation, legal guardianship determined by a court, or lack of family support. If you are just starting your journey at IUPUI and think that you may have experience in any of the areas above, you should apply.   • Indiana County Bicentennial Scholarship - The Indiana County Bicentennial Scholarship provides a scholarship opportunity for incoming freshman students from select counties across the state of Indiana. Eligibility for the program is based on Indiana county of residence. No additional application required.
    The qualifying counties are: Adams, Benton, Blackford, Carroll, Crawford, Fountain, Fulton, Jay, Jennings, Martin, Newton, Ohio, Parke, Pike, Pulaski, Randolph, Rush, Scott, Starke, Sullivan, Switzerland, Tipton, Union, Vermillion, and Warren.
  • Qualifying students for the fall 2020 freshman class will receive a scholarship of $2,500 annually (for four years) toward the direct cost of attendance at Indiana University Bloomington.
  • The North Vernon Industry Corp. Advanced Manufacturing Technology Scholarship is now available in the Guidance office. The eligibility criteria are as follows: accepted to Ivy Tech in Columbus/Madison, or IUPUC, and plan to study in the technology or manufacturing field. You can pick up more details and applications in Guidance. The deadline is Monday, April 13, 2020.
  • The "SEI Communications Scholarship Award" is now available in the Guidance Office. The student's main residence must be with a parent/guardian who is an SEI Communications Customer and must have a GPA of 2.75/4.00. Applications are available in the Guidance office. The application deadline is no later than April 10, 2020.
  • The Indiana Sheriffs' Association Scholarship applications are now available in the Guidance office. The applicant must be committed to pursuing an education and career in a law enforcement field at an Indiana college or university and be a current member, or a dependent child/grandchild of a current member of the association. Applications are available in the Guidance office. The deadline to apply is April 1, 2020.
  • The 2020 United Producers Inc. is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior who is pursuing an agricultural career. Applicants must be a member or a child/grandchild of a UPI member. Applications are available in the Guidance office. You must postmark or email your completed application by April 1, 2020.
  • The Southeastern Indiana Recycling District (SEIRD) is pleased to announce their "2020 Students Making an Environmental Difference" scholarship. You must be nominated by a staff member who knows your involvement with recycling efforts. More information is available in the Guidance office. The application deadline is on Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at 3:00 p.m.
  • The Bartholomew County Conservation Council, Inc. has the Bill Newton Scholarship now available. They will award this $1,500 scholarship to a graduating senior that plans to attend a four-year academic or technical or, two-year associate-level program. The applications must be postmarked no later than April 30, 2020. Applications are available in the Guidance office.

Summer Scholarship Opportunities

Scholarships Available June–August

  • The Max and Geri Joseph Rotary scholarship is for students who have been out of high school at least two years. Applicant must be planning on attending an accredited post-secondary education institution. Applicant understands that the North Vernon Rotary Club will award a check, in the applicant’s name, to the institution the applicant is attending. Applicant must be a current resident of Jennings County or a graduate of Jennings County High School. Only persons who have been out of high school for at least two years may apply.   • Mrs Prindables is offering a 2020 scholarship opportunity for incoming or current college students majoring in education. The deadline is on August 20, 2020. Please visit the Mrs Prindables website to apply.

Fall Scholarship Opportunities

Scholarships Available September–November

  • The Horatio Alger Association honors the achievements of outstanding individuals in our society who have succeeded in spite of adversity and who are committed to supporting young people in pursuit of increased opportunities through higher education. The application will be open until October 25, 2019.   • The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program is the United States’ largest youth recognition program based exclusively on volunteer community service. The application deadline is on November 5, 2019. Please visit the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards website for more information.
  • The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship for high achieving, self-motivated students. The scholarship provides up to $6,000 each semester, for up to eight consecutive semesters, to help recipients graduate college debt free. Over 800 Hagan Scholars from 42 states are currently attending 325 colleges and universities. The application deadline is on November 15, 2019.   • Any incoming freshman who applies to IUPUI for fall 2020 by November 15 and meets the following criteria is eligible to be considered for a competitive scholarship and admission to the IUPUI Honors College: a cumulative high school GPA of 3.75, a recommended minimum ACT composite score of 28 or minimum SAT score of 1310, and completion of the online IUPUI Honors College scholarship application.   • The Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship provides 200 high-achieving high school and college students interested in pursuing a career in education the opportunity to earn a renewable scholarship of up to $7,500 each year for up to four academic years. The application for this scholarship opened September 1, 2019. Students must apply through ScholarTrack, so they will need to create a full student account before they can access the application. More information is available on the commission website. Applications are due with nominations on November 30, 2019.
