Scholarship Information

College is a substantial financial investment; however, we believe no one should be denied an education due to cost. Begin seeking financial aid and scholarships early.

Upcoming Events

  • The Foot Locker Scholar Athletes scholarship has a value of $20,000, and there are 20 awards available. The deadline to apply is December 14, 2018. For more information, please visit the StudentScholarships.org website.
  • The Proud Scholars program has a scholarship window from November 1 through March 1 for students that identify as LGBT and are between the ages of 17-24. To access the application, please visit the Proud Scholars website.
  • 2019 Hammett, Bellin & Oswald Law & Justice Scholarship is for all first-year college freshman who will be attending an accredited college/university during the 2019–2020 school year (current seniors). Applicant must enroll in and plan to attend a college/university during the 2019–2020 school year, proof of enrollment to an accredited college/university, and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.   • The Hagan Scholarship Foundation has released the Hagan Scholarship for 2018–2019. You must have a minimum GPA of 3.50 or higher, 23 or higher on ACT/1150 or higher on the SAT, and have an EFC of less than $6500. To learn more please, visit the Hagan Scholarships website.
  • Davenport University has many scholarships available to students who plan to attend. Please visit the Davenport University website to learn more.
  • If you are a senior that plans to attend Indiana State University to major in business. Please send Ms. Cardinal in the Guidance Department an email. There may be an opportunity for you to receive full-tuition if you qualify.

Fall Scholarship Opportunities

Scholarships Available September-November

  • Bartholomew County REMC Scholarship – Established by the Bartholomew County REMC in recognition of the value of education and the desire to assist area students in their educational achievements.
    • Criteria: This scholarship is for residents of Bartholomew County, or members of any Bartholomew County REMC household from Decatur, Jackson, or Jennings counties, who plan to attend an accredited post-secondary institution in pursuit of a technical certificate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree. Applicant must have a high school or college GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale or 5.0 on a 12.0 scale. We will consider academics, school activities, and community involvement.
  • The Indiana Builders Educational Scholarship Foundation has announced their scholarship for this year. These scholarships are for individuals desiring to continue their education to enhance their career in the building industry. Applications are available in the guidance office. Applicants must submit their application no later than September 28, 2018.
  • The Horatio Alger Scholarship is now available online to any student who meets the following criteria: enrolled as a high school senior and plans to attend college in Fall 2019, exhibits a strong commitment to complete a bachelor's degree, demonstrate financial need, involved in extra-curricular activities, display integrity in overcoming adversity, maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0, and be a US citizen.   • The Imagine America High School Scholarship is for high school seniors planning to attend a career school participating in the Imagine America High School Scholarship Program. Seniors GPA must be over 2.5 and enroll in a participating school. To learn more, please visit the Imagine America Scholarship page.
  • The Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America (LEDA) is a national, not-for-profit organization dedicated to identifying and developing the academic and leadership potential for exceptional public high school students from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds.   • QuestBridge is a nationally recognized nonprofit that connects high-achieving, low-income students to full four-year scholarships colleges such as Stanford, Yale, Amherst, and Duke. Please visit the QuestBridge website to learn more.
  • The 2019 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards honor students in grades 5-12 who had made meaningful contributions to their communities through volunteer service. The student application deadline is on November 6, 2018. Please apply online.
  • The Elks National Foundation's 2019 Most Valuable Student scholarship is now open to high school seniors. You can access the application by visiting the Elks National Foundation website. The deadline for submission is on or before November 15, 2018.
  • The Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship application is now available online. They will accept applications in ScholarTrack until November 20, 2018. To access the eligibility criteria and link for the application please visit the Indiana Commission for Higher Education website.

Winter Scholarship Opportunities

Scholarships Available December-February

  • The National Honor Society scholarship application is now open online. You may access applications online on the National Honor Society website. The application deadline for students is December 7, 2018.

  • Zimmer Tractor is offering a $100 scholarship to an active FFA or 4-H member that is pursing an agriculture related education. If no such applicant exists, then the winner will be chosen from any eligible active FFA or 4-H senior who applies. Applications are available in the guidance office. Applications must be postmarked by February 1, 2019.
  • The Indiana Association of Educational Office Professionals, Inc. (Indiana A.E.O.P) is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior that has completed two or more business related courses and has a 2.8 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Deadline for submission is February 10, 2019. Applications are available in the guidance office.
  • WACE, on behalf of the nine WACE Partner Institutions, is pleased to announce and sponsor its seventeenth annual national co-op scholarship program. These merit co-op scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors and transfer students who plan to participate in college cooperative education at one of our partner institutions. The scholarship application must be postmarked by February 19, 2019. Please visit the WACE website to learn more.
