College is a substantial financial investment; however, we believe no one should be denied an education due to cost. Begin seeking financial aid and scholarships early.

Winter Scholarship Opportunities

Scholarships Available December–February

  • The  Indiana Oil and Gas Association now has their scholarship available. The Oil and Gas Association Scholarship application deadline is March 1, 2021.
    The requirements are:
    • Be a graduating high school senior or currently enrolled in a post-secondary education program.
    • Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
    • Have a financial need determined by the scholarship committee.
    • Plan to pursue a career in the oil and gas industry.
    • Be attending college in the coming fall.
    • Be a resident of Indiana and attending an accredited college.
    • Be pursuing a bachelor's degree, with preference given for earth sciences, petroleum engineering, chemical engineering or geology majors.
    • Submit a short essay which describes the applicant’s interest in the oil and gas industry and which career path the applicant is planning to pursue.
  • The Don Pelkey Kiwanis Memorial Scholarship is now available in the Guidance office. This $300 award is given to a graduating senior who has excelled in leadership, scholarship, and community service. The application deadline is on Friday, February 26, 2021. Please come pick up an application in the Guidance office.
  • The Co-Alliance Solutions Scholarship is not available until February 1, 2021. Applications are available here. This $1,000 scholarship is based upon the following criteria:
    • They plan on graduating this spring.
    • Their parents or grandparents are members of one of our five-member co-ops (Midland, Impact, LaPorte, Frontier, or Excel).
    • They will study agriculture in college.
    • The strength of a 500-word minimum essay on the topic of what agriculture means to them, and why they’ve chosen it as an area of study.
  • The application for the 2021 Loretta M. Burd Scholarship Program from Centra Credit Union and Centra Foundation is now open.
    Each year, the Centra Foundation awards one scholarship valued at $2,500 per Centra location to graduating high school seniors. We evaluate applications on the following criteria; academic achievements, school and community involvement, work history, and a written essay related to financial literacy.
    Here are a few important details you’ll need to know for this year:
    • Application date: January 11 through February 28, 2021, by 11:59 p.m.
    • Please submit all applications online
    • There is a Guidance Counselor Verification Form that each student will need submitted by a guidance counselor or high school official to verify academic information. In order to review the student’s application, please complete this form by the deadline of 11:59 p.m. on February 28, 2021. 
  • The Indiana Association of Educational Office Professionals Scholarship application is now available to pick up in the guidance office. The deadline for submission is February 10. Eligibility includes: majoring in a business or office related field (preferably in education), have completed (2) or more business courses, should enroll in a college/university in the fall, and a GPA of 2.8 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • The Zimmer Tractor Scholarship is now available in the guidance office. We will award this $100 scholarship to an active FFA or 4-H member that is pursuing an agriculture-related education. If you are not going into agriculture it is still encouraged for you to apply. Please postmark applications by February 15, 2021. Please pick up an application in the guidance office if interested.
  • Hanover College Music Scholarships - Hanover College hosts scholarship competitions each year for prospective students to compete for awards based on their musical interests. This scholarship requires an audition for entry into any ensemble in which a student is interested. Continued participation in that ensemble is required for students to received this renewable $1,500 award. Auditions for either type of ensemble should include a conversation about a student's musical experience and ambitions. Auditions are a way to show passion and enjoyment of music. It should be viewed as a positive, affirming experience. Put your best foot forward, and enjoy it!
  • Indiana Next Generation Hoosier Education Scholarship
  • The College Board Opportunity Scholarships and Recognition Program begins on December 4, 2019, at 12:00:01 a.m. eastern standard time and ends on February 28, 2021, at 11:59:59 p.m. easter standard time for the class of 2021. Sponsor’s computer is the official timekeeping device for this scholarship program.
  • The Coolidge Scholarship through the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation is now available online. It is a full-ride scholarship for four years of undergraduate study to any accredited United States college or university. Any high school junior who plans to enroll in college in fall of 2022 is eligible to apply. The application deadline is 5:00 p.m. eastern time on Wednesday, January 20, 2021.   • Vincennes University is offering scholarships to students who plan to major in mathematics education. Please visit Ms. Cardinal in the Guidance office if you would like to learn more. Deadlines for applications are March 31, 2021.
  • The Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship is now available until 5:00 p.m. on February 1, 2021. Please visit the Jackie Robinson Foundation website for more information.
  • Co-Alliance will be again offering its Solutions Scholarship this year. 20 students will be recipients of a one-time $1,000 scholarship based on the following criteria:
    • They plan on graduating this spring.
    • Their parents or grandparents are members of one of our five member co-ops (Midland, Impact, LaPorte, Frontier, or Excel).
    • They will study agriculture in college.
    • The strength of a 500-word minimum essay on the topic what agriculture means to them and why they’ve chosen it as an area of study.

  • Earlham College is now offering the Heartland Region Scholarship. This scholarship is for $2,000 per year for four years and is awarded to students who live within 150 miles of Earlham College. All you have to do is submit your Earlham College application. Please visit the Earlham College website for applications and more information.
  • Holy Cross College has launched Indiana Max, a funding program that allows high-achieving low-income students from Indiana to attend Holy Cross College for $0 in tuition and fees out of pocket. To learn more, please visit the Holy Cross College website.
  • The University of Southern Indiana has various scholarship opportunities for students who plan to attend USI.

Spring Scholarship Opportunities

Scholarships Available March–June

  • Decatur Mold is offering a technical trades scholarship this year. The eligibility criteria is as follows: senior student who is a resident of Jennings County and has been accepted to a two (or more) year program in a technical trade (example: toolmaker, machinist, electrical, plumbing, building trades, mechanic, etc.). Applications are available in the Guidance office and are due to Ms. Cardinal no later than April 16 at 3:00 p.m.
  • The Judy M. James Scholarship through the Bar-Cons Federal Credit Union is offering a $1,000 non-renewable scholarship. Applicant must have become a member of Bar-Cons Federal Credit Union prior to March 31, 2021. Applications are available in the Guidance office.
  • The Jackson County REMC Scholarship application is now available in the Guidance office. Applicant must reside in a home of a parent/legal guardian who is a Jackson County REMC member and receives electric services. We will give special consideration to an applicant attending school to study careers in the field of business, information technology, engineering, communications, marketing, human resources, accounting, or utility-related fields. The applications due date is April 16, 2021.
  • The Indiana Sheriffs' Association Scholarship is now available in the Guidance office. Applicants must be committed to pursuing an education in a law enforcement field at a college/university in Indiana.  All applicants must a current member of the association or a dependent child or grandchild of a current member of the association. The deadline for submission is on April 1, 2021. 
  • Kyle Harrop Memorial Scholarship applications are available in the Guidance office. The two main criteria are: the student will be attending Purdue University West Lafayette in the fall, and they must have participated in any/all of our academic competitions (Spell Bowl, Academic Super Bowl, Academic Decathlon, Quiz Bowl, and/or Future Problem Solvers). The application deadline is on March 17, 2021.
  • The Plumbers, Steamfitters, and HVAC Service Technicians Local 440 J.A.T.C is now accepting applications to their apprenticeship program. 2022–2023 application packets are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the following address: 1521 Brookville Crossing Way, Indianapolis, IN 46239. 
  • The Schneck Foundation Allied Health Scholarship online application is now available. Application packets are also available in the Guidance office. Packets must be returned to the Schneck Foundation no later than March 15, 2021.
  • The SEI Communications scholarship is now available. You must have a GPA of 2.75/4.0 or higher and your parent/guardian must be a customer of SEI Communications as of February 1, 2021. They must receive your applications at the SEI office by 4:30 p.m. on April 9, 2021. Please pick up an application in the guidance office if interested.
  • The Southeastern Indiana Recycling District (SEIRD) has released their 2021 Students Making an Environmental Difference. Students must be nominated by a staff member who knows of the students' involvement in recycling efforts. A 500-word essay, transcript, and letter of recommendation are all required. The application deadline is Friday, April 2, 2021, at 3:00 p.m.
  • The Southeastern Indiana REMC is awarding three $500 scholarships to eligible graduating seniors. Eligibility requirements are: parents/legal guardians of the applicant must be a member of the Southeastern Indiana REMC, must be a 2021 graduating senior, and the recipient must enroll in post-secondary education as a full time student in the fall of 2021. Applications are available on the Southeastern Indiana REMC website and are due by March 29, 2021.
  • The United Producers, Inc. scholarship is now available. To qualify for the scholarship, applicants can be a member or a child/grandchild of a UPI member. Applicants must be a 2021 graduating high school senior planning to attend college or technical school. Applicants must also submit a completed application and personal essay summarizing their college and career goals. Applicants must mail or email their applications by April 1, 2021. Please pick up an application in the guidance office or fill one out online on the United Producers, Inc. site.

Summer Scholarship Opportunities

Scholarships Available June–August

  • US Naval Academy Summer STEM Camp and Seminar
    • The US Naval Academy is holding its summer STEM camp and summer seminar this coming June in a virtual format.
    • Summer STEM is for current eighth, ninth, and tenth graders, while summer seminar is for current eleventh graders.
    • There is a fee associated with each, but the USNA has scholarships available depending on the family's individual circumstances. The fee includes USNA apparel and program materials.

Fall Scholarship Opportunities

Scholarships Available September–November

  • Veterans of Foreign Wars Youth Scholarships
    • The VFW dedicates to promoting patriotism and investing in our future generation. If you are a democracy-loving high school student interested in a $30,000 college scholarship or a patriotic middle school student interested in winning $5,000, these scholarships may be for you.
    • The 2020–21 theme is: Is this the Country the Founders Envisioned?
    • Want to apply? Read the rules and eligibility requirements, and download the 2020–21 entry form application, as all student must submit their entries to a sponsoring local VFW Post by midnight, Oct. 31. 
  • The James Alan Cox Foundation for Student Photojournalists
    • We will award five (5) digital SLR cameras to five (5) high school students. (High school applicants should only submit still photographs. The video awards are for college and graduate students only.)
    • We will award five (5) $2,500 scholarships to five (5) college or technical school students, payable to their school. Four awards will be for video work while one will be for still photography.
    • We will award one (1) $2,500 scholarship to one (1) graduate student, payable to their school, for video work.
    • You must submit your scholarship applications between July 15, 2020, and midnight, the evening of November 15, 2020.
  • The 2021 Most Valuable Student (MVS) contest opened on August 5, 2020. We will judge applicants on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.
    • Eligibility:
      Current high school seniors or the equivalent, who are citizens of the United States are eligible to apply.
      Applicants do not need to be related to a member of the Elks.
      High school graduates are not eligible to apply.
      Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date they submit their applications; permanent legal resident status does not qualify.
      The application deadline is November 15, 2020, at 11:59 p.m., Pacific Time.
  • The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors. We recognize students for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. With the 32nd class in 2020, the Foundation has provided over 6,300 Coca-Cola Scholars with more than $72 million in educational support. We select 150 Coca-Cola Scholars each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship. Our application is open! High school seniors can apply here. The deadline to submit the application eligibility quiz is 4:00 p.m. Eastern, October 31, 2020. The deadline to submit the full application is 5:00 p.m. Eastern, October 31, 2020.  
  • The Indiana Commission for Higher Education is accepting applications for the 5th cohort of the Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship. The scholarship provides 200 students up to $7,500 per year (renewable up to four years) in exchange for agreeing to teach in Indiana for five consecutive years. Students interested in applying must:
    • Be a current high school senior or college student in Indiana.
    • Be in the top 20% of their class, or have a top 20% ACT/SAT score.
    • Submit a completed application at ScholarTrack.IN.gov.
    • Submit a 2021–2022 FAFSA

  • The 2020 HireAHelper Skilled Trade & Technology Scholarship is a $2000 scholarship to help keep up with demand and assist the next generation of professionals. You must be 18 year or older, have a 3.4 minimum GPA, and pursuing a degree that enables you others in your community to learn a new trade, develop skills and technology, or start a small business related to moving services offered by HireAHelper. Entries are now being accepted through October 14, 2020. Please visit the HireAHelper website for more information.
  • The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, designed to provide each recipient with the opportunity to graduate college debt-free. There is no application fee. Hagan Scholarship recipients are high achieving, self-motivated students who will require substantial financial assistance to attend college. The Hagan Scholarship provides up to $48,000 over four years. The application deadline is 5:00 p.m. CST, November 15, 2020. A letter and Hagan Scholarship brochure will mail out to you later this month.
  • StudentScholarships.org has been providing scholarship information to students and scholarship management services to companies since 2003. Feel free to sign up for the StudentScholarships.org newsletter.
  • Any graduating senior who applies to Grace Christian University prior to October 30, 2020 will receive a $600 Fall Scholarship for use at Grace. To apply online please visit their application page.
  • The Free Speech Essay Contest is open to juniors and seniors in U.S. high schools, including home-schooled students, as well as U.S. citizens attending high school overseas. You may email additional questions regarding eligibility to essaycontest@thefire.org.
  • The Coca–Cola Scholars Program Scholarship is open to current high school seniors, including home-schooled students, in the U.S. who will graduate during the 2020-2021 academic school year. Interested seniors who meet the eligibility requirements may apply online.
  • Scholarship programs that have partnered with the PSAT are available. Programs include the National Merit Scholarship Program and the Children of Fallen Patriots Scholarship. For more information about these partners and programs, visit the PSAT scholarships page.
  • The Horatio Alger Association has multiple scholarship programs available. Please visit their scholarship page to find out more about these opportunities open to high school seniors, graduates, and college freshman.
  • The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation designed their scholarship programs to encourage and support outstanding students who work hard and have financial need. For more information on these programs for high school, undergraduate, and graduate students, please visit their scholarships page.
  • The online application for the Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship is available starting on November 1, 2020. Through the JRF application, more than 4,000 talented young minority high school students apply to become JRF Scholars and carry on the civic-minded legacy of the foundation's namesake, Jackie Robinson. The deadline to submit the application for a JRF Scholarship is February 1, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. ET. 
  • The Great Plains Communications College Scholarship is offered to a graduating senior who plans to attend college in either Indiana or Nebraska. To be considered for their scholarships please review application requirements and scholarship information. Deadline for submission is March 1, 2021.
  • The Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) is now available online. The deadline for submission is February 23, 2021.
  • The Networks Scholarship is for students studying for a career in business and financial services at Indiana State University. Please look into this scholarship if you are planning to attend ISU and you plan to have a major in the Scott College of Business. The deadline for submission is December 15, 2020.
  • The 2021 Beacon Credit Union Scholarship is now available. Applicants must be members of a Beacon Credit Union by the date of submission. Please pick up a scholarship application in the guidance office. The deadline for Submission is January 31, 2021.
